In 2020, the Fanfaribole celebrated its 10th anniversary and presented its 10th creation, “Les voi(x)es du désir”, ranging from Baroque to jazz, by Michel Godard, serpent player.
Thanks to the association Amis des Orchestres du Conservatoire (ADO), which supports the cultural projects of the Cantonal Conservatory, the repertoire explored by Fanfaribole, consisting exclusively of new creations, greatly enriches the range of knowledge of the students. Indeed, this gateway to dynamic music, featuring various cultural movements such as jazz and improvisation, contemporary music and electronic music, provides classical music students with a valuable and essential complement.
It is made up of around forty musicians, mostly advanced students from the Cantonal Conservatory of Music in Sion, surrounded by adults and former professional musicians, and its instrumentation offers remarkable originality and one of the richest sound palettes, since, in addition to brass and woodwind instruments, it also includes a string quintet, harp, accordion, electric bass guitar and a multitude of percussion instruments.
It was created in 2010 by its conductor, Pascal Emonet, trombone professor.
