About

Greek-American Violinist Ariadne Daskalakis, a unique performer and pedagogue of both modern and baroque violin, concertizes with renowned ensembles in major venues around the world. In the dual role of leader and soloist, she also works extensively with chamber orchestras and period instrument ensembles.

A laureate of the International Competition of the ARD Munich, she studied at the Juilliard School, Harvard University and the Hochschule der Künste Berlin. Her mentors included Eric Rosenblith, Eugene Lehner, Szymon Goldberg and Ilan Gronich.

She is Professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and Artistic Director of the “Palazzo Ricci” Academy Montepulciano and the festival “Music from Land’s End Wareham” (USA).

Ariadne has contributed to “The Strad” magazine’s columns “Teaching and Playing: Technique” and “5 Practice Tips”, and is collaborating on the new “Wiener Urtext Edition” of the Beethoven Violin Sonatas.
