Cédric Meyer is a lutenist and guitarist of Franco-Swiss origin.
He gives recitals and concerts on recognized musical stages in Europe, the United Kingdom, and South America.
He performs as a soloist, in ensembles and orchestras, and with choirs. He is regularly invited to play in opera productions and is involved in the artistic teams of companies specializing in baroque works.
The review ‘Plays To See’ commented on a London performance of Monteverdi: “Cédric Meyer was superb on the archlute.”
He recorded an album with tenor Kieran White for Somm Recordings to celebrate the 400th anniversary of John Dowland and John Danyel.
Cédric Meyer is also an active researcher in program development, projects, and music publishing. He practices the craft of making historical plucked string instruments and is invited as an exhibiting luthier at specialized fairs.
He is the recipient of several artistic grants in Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Cédric Meyer teaches at the Music School of Pully and works for the Haute Ecole de Musique Vaud Valais Fribourg as a supervising master, guest lecturer, and accompanist.
He received his musical education at the Conservatory and the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva, the Haute Ecole de Musique Vaud Valais Fribourg, and the Schola Cantorum in Basel. He holds two Master of Arts degrees and a postgraduate certificate specializing in early music.
