The violins of Sion reach new heights

The mountain hiking season is here, bringing cooler air and nature in full bloom – a true feast for the eyes. Would you like to combine it with the pleasure of live music ? Then join us at higher altitudes !

For the second consecutive year, the violins of Sion will travel to the surrounding mountain resorts to offer you unforgettable musical moments set against breathtaking scenery. Sion Festival is joining forces with Sion Tourism and its 5th season, Nendaz & Veysonnaz Mountain Railways, and the Les Transats Sonores festival to bring you four events at over 2,000 metres above sea level between 19 July and 23 August.

The second edition of Violon au Sommet will begin on 19 July in Siviez (Terrasse du Hameau de Tortin), followed by Thyon on 8 August (village square, as part of the Les Transats Sonores festival) and Veysonnaz on 15 August (Terrasse du Mont-Rouge). At each event, two young musicians will take you to the highest peaks of their art.

Finally, on 23 August, another musical experience close to the summits awaits you at the Tracouet restaurant in Nendaz. Organised in collaboration with Nendaz & Veysonnaz Mountain Railways, this concert at altitude will feature not string instruments this time, but the Éolys wind quintet, which you will also have the opportunity to hear at Sion Festival on 22 August.

All concerts are free of charge (mountain railway tickets not included).

Put on your hiking boots and come and join us in the mountains!
