After attending the prestigious musical academies of Lodz and Warsaw, the four musicians of the MozART Group decided to forge their own path and form a string quartet that would challenge the stereotypes of classical music.
Playing together since 1995, MozART group first debuted on television presenting short musical sketches. In 1997, they wrote their first long show, a joyful cabaret entitled “Mozart is still alive”, which was an instant success. Since then, the ensemble has performed all over Europe, Canada, the United States and Asia, often collaborating with great artists such as the comedic mime Krosny and singer Bobby McFerrin. The quartet’s unusual but high-quality work has earned them numerous awards, including the Grand Prize at the 18th Satire and Comedy Festival in Lidzbark and the Bronze Penguin awarded by the cabaret community of Zielona Gora, the capital of the Polish cabaret.
In their own words: “ We exist despite the sober formality of great concert halls, despite the boredom of classical musicians’ life, despite fanatic lovers of classical music, despite fans of rock, rap or pop who are afraid of classical music. We treat our Muse with a humorous irony and we’re sure, she will have nothing against it!”
