About

Born in 1977 in Montreal, Noémie L. Robidas holds a bachelor’s degree in violin interpretation (University of Montreal) and a master’s degree in instrumental teaching, with a specialization in violin (Laval University). Passionate about pedagogy, she completed a doctorate (Ph.D) on the integration of improvisation in instrumental teaching. Her journey has been rich, both as a musician and as an educator – teaching the violin to young musicians and future professionals, and also as a director of music universities – a position to which she has devoted herself for almost ten years. Thus, after having directed the Department of live performance at the Institut Supérieur d’Arts in Toulouse, she was appointed to head the Haute École de Musique Vaud-Valais-Fribourg (HEMU) and the Lausanne Conservatory in March 2019.
