About

Founded in 1968 by Anzor Erkomaichvili, a singer and folklorist, the Rustavi Ensemble is a men’s choir whose mission is to promote and disseminate beyond national borders the richness of Georgian traditional song, and has been listed as an intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO since 2001. The choir has also been awarded the Pacha prize for its immense work in preserving folk repertoires. An important discography, which has won many awards, gives an idea of the variety of this exceptional heritage and of the group’s involvement in its preservation.
