About

Silvia Marcovici, a world-renowned violinist trained at the Romanian violin school, made her debut at 16 under the baton of Bruno Maderna. She won several prestigious competitions, including the Marguerite Long Jacques Thibaud (1969) and the Georges Enesco competition (1970). Her career took a major turn in 1972 with a concert alongside Leopold Stokowski and the London Symphony Orchestra. Since then, she has performed worldwide in major concert halls with renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Simon Rattle, Riccardo Muti, and many others.

A versatile musician, she excels both as a soloist and in chamber music with artists such as Pascal Rogé, Boris Berezovsky, and David Geringas. She recently collaborated with Evgeny Kissin and Alexander Kniasev in a memorable concert at the Radio France Festival. Notable among her recordings are the Sibelius concerto with Neeme Järvi and the Carl Nielsen concerto with Yoel Levi. Silvia Marcovici is also a professor at the Perosi Academy in Biella (Italy).
