About

The lutenist Thomas C. Boysen was born in Oslo into a musical family. After graduating from the Academy of Music in his hometown, he moved to Germany, where he studied with Professor Rolf Lislevand in Trossingen. Thomas C. Boysen soon developed an intense musical activity – as a soloist or continuo player – with the most famous baroque orchestras (Collegium Vocale Gent, Concert d’Astrée, Poème Harmonique, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Freiburg Baroque Orchestra). For several years, the idea of transmission has been at the heart of his practice. He gives frequent masterclasses and teaches lute and basso continuo at the Academy of Music in Munich.
