We are delighted to announce that registration is now open for the next edition of the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition, which will take place from 22 to 30 August 2025 in Sion, and will include some new features.

Firstly, the age limit has been raised to 30 – instead of the current 26. Secondly, a 3^rd round of chamber music with violin, cello and singing (soprano) has been added to the 1^st and 2^nd rounds (solo and piano respectively). Thirdly, and because of the above, there will only be one final with orchestra. The 3^rd round and the final will be part of the Sion Festival 2025 programme and will be held in the new Noda BCVS hall.

You have until midnight (Swiss time) on 23 April 2025 to register online on our website, where you can also consult the competition rules (see below). If you are selected on the basis of the videos you will send us, you will take part in the 1^st round and play the world premiere of a piece composed especially for the Tibor Varga 2025 Competition.

You will receive constructive feedback and advice from an international Jury. You could even be the lucky winner of one of the many prizes up to CHF 20,000.
