About

From an early age, Véronique Carrot pursued a career as a bilateral musician, dividing her time between harpsichord and choral conducting.

When she was old enough to choose her career path she discovered the Jaques-Dalcroze method, which brought her to Geneva to take a course combined with that of harpsichordist. She first learnt under Christiane Jaccottet, and, then went on to perfect her skills in Canada with Scott Ross.

Alongside her instrumental studies, she came into contact with Michel Corboz and sang for a time in his Ensemble vocal de Lausanne.

She succeeded Corboz as head of the Choeur de la Cité de Lausanne, which she conducted for 28 years. She has also conducted the Lausanne Opera Choir.

Over the years, Véronique Carrot has taken increasing pleasure in chamber music, opera and the accompaniment of baroque music. This activity is fruitfully extended by her coaching of young musicians, both instrumentalists and singers.
