Musical challenge met with flair by our six contestants, who showcased all their expertise and dexterity in the new Noda BCVS concert hall during the 3rd round of the Tibor Varga Competition – the final step before the grand finale taking place on August 30.

Through a demanding chamber music program, joined by soprano Ekaterina Shelehova, pianist Adrian Oetiker, and cellist Thomas Grossenbacher, this 3rd round highlighted the uniqueness of each participant while revealing their talent for dialogue and attentive listening within the ensemble. Our young talents transported the audience and jury into contrasting and enchanting worlds, thanks to high-quality interpretations of three major works from the classical repertoire, which captivated the entire hall.

Our applause also goes to the candidates who were not selected for the final. Their performances were noticed and warmly received by both experts and music lovers in the hall.

To keep the momentum going and crown one of our young violin prodigies, an exceptional evening awaits you at the Competition Final on August 30 at the new Noda BCVS concert hall! Each of our three finalists will perform one of the greatest violin concertos, accompanied by the South Czech Philharmonic and wind players from prestigious Italian orchestras, under the baton of Valentin Uryupin. A night not to be missed – you might just witness the rise of one of tomorrow’s international violin stars…

And a solo violin piece, preferably composed after 1970, freely chosen by the finalist.
