Alexandra Tirsu is regarded as one of the most promising violinists of her generation. Winner of the Osaka International Competition in 2014, the Seoul International Competition in 2018 and the highly prestigious ARD Competition First Prize in 2021, her recent performances have been highly praised by the specialist critics. Alexandra has also collaborated with artists such as Gidon Kremer, Dmitri Jurowsky and Ivry Gitlis. In order to bring her repertoire to a wider audience, she can regularly be heard with the famous musico-comic duo Igudesman & Joo. Alexandra completed her undergraduate studies in Vienna under the tutelage of Pavel Vernikov and is currently pursuing her postgraduate studies in Sion in the class of Janine Jansen. She plays a Francesco Gofriller violin kindly made available to her by the Goh Family Foundation.
