Blythe was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana, USA. She studied under Nelli Shkolnikova, Andres Cardenes, and Atar Arad before relocating to Switzerland, where she currently resides with her husband and children. A dedicated chamber musician, Blythe has collaborated with esteemed artists such as the Quatuor Ebène, Menahem Pressler, Joshua Bell, Janine Jansen, Leonidas Kavakos, Nobuko Imai, Steven Isserlis, and Gábor Takács-Nagy. She has performed at distinguished venues including Wigmore Hall, the Recital Hall of the Royal Concertgebouw, the Recital Hall of the Elbphilharmonie, the 92nd Street Y, Schloss Elmau, and the Verbier Festival.
Blythe is a founding member of the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. She has served as artistic director at Schloss Elmau, and is currently the co-artistic director of the Verbier Festival.
Blythe performs on a G.P. Maggini viola from 1610, generously on loan from a private benefactor.
