About

Edna Unseld, born in 2011, comes from a Swiss-German musical home; she started playing the violin at the age of four and, because of her special talent, was soon given Anne-Sophie Mutter’s childhood instrument. In 2021, many doors opened for the young artist: Maxim Vengerov invited her to his online masterclass, she won the third prize at the International Leonid Kogan Competition (Brussels) and played – under the direction of Gilbert Varga – at memorial concerts for Tibor Varga in Pécs and at the Liszt Academy in Budapest. In 2022 she won the International Violin Competition “Il Piccolo Violino Magico” and the special prize of the Louis Spohr International Competition for young violinists. Edna is currently studying at the Zurich Conservatory (MKZ) in the violin class of Jens Lohmann.
