Enrico Dindo studied with Antonio Janigro, and for 11 years was first solo cello at the “Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala” in Milan. In 1997 he won first prize at the Rostropovich Competition in Paris and began his career as an international soloist, playing with many prestigious orchestras and important conductors.  Enrico Dindo is regularly invited to numerous international festivals and several composers have dedicated works to him.

 

In 2000, he received the “Abbiati” prize as best soloist for the 1998/1999 season from the Associazione Nazionale Italiana Critici Musicali. In August 2004 he was named grand winner of the Sixth International Web Concert Hall Competition, and in November 2005 he received the “Vittorio De Sica” music prize from the President of the Italian Republic, Carlo Azelio Ciampi.

 

Alongside his activities as a soloist, Enrico Dindo is keen to share and transmit his knowledge. In addition to his position as Professor at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, he founded the Pavia Cello Academy in 2001 and was appointed Principal and Musical conductor at the Croatian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra in Zagreb in 2014.
