Founded in 1998, the Ensemble Agora is made up of a wind quintet and a harp – an unusual combination whose sound colours immediately suggest a strong singularity. In addition to this original instrumentation, the group distinguishes itself by its in-depth reflection on the “concert” event. Thus, the musicians enjoy imagining new forms, where music meets other arts: designers, writers, directors and actors have thus participated in the ensemble’s productions. For the Nutcracker project, the six instrumentalists chose to collaborate with the illustrator Juliette Barbanègre and the singer Natalie Dessay.
