Frédéric Théodoloz grew up in the heart of Valais brass bands and, from an early age, distinguished himself in national soloist competitions. At the age of 15, he joined Roland Schnorhk’s trombone class at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève where he obtained his diploma in 1996 and his first prize for virtuosity in 2000. From then on, he gained solid experience as an orchestral musician while studying instrumental conducting. In 2013 he obtained a Master’s degree in wind ensemble conducting at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne. From 2012 to 2016, Frédéric Théodoloz directed the Brass Band Fribourg and won several important titles. He is currently the director of La Lyre de Conthey, co-director of the BPM Festival (Brass and Percussion Meeting) and leader of the Brass Band 13 Étoiles.
