Les Solistes Français, led by Paul Rouger, are distinguished above all by an exceptional quality of expression, born of an intense joy of living and communicating. Aged between 27 and 47 and all graduates of major European conservatoires (Paris, Lyon, Lausanne or Brussels), they use their dazzling technique solely in the service of expression and self-improvement. And if their curiosity is matched only by their enthusiasm, recognized by both the press and the public, it is above all the friendship and complicity among the musicians that continues to amaze and move audiences.
Les Solistes Français have successfully taken part in numerous festivals (Auvers-sur-Oise, Toulouse, Carcassonne, Chartres, Mulhouse, Antibes, Sommières, La Prée, Saint-Cloud, Mont-Dore, Musicalta), and give more than 120 concerts each year in prestigious venues (Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, Saint-Germain-des-Prés Church, Saint-Séverin Church) or in major cities such as Bordeaux, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Biarritz, Annecy, Alicante…
Les Solistes Français have accompanied renowned musicians such as Elisabeth Vidal, Roland Daugareil, Michel Michalakakos, Hervé Joulain, Jean-Marc Luisada, Emmanuel Rossfelder, Ingrid Perruche, Dominique de Williencourt, Émile Naoumoff, Michel Dalberto and Brigitte Engerer.
Their preference for the classical repertoire does not prevent them from promoting contemporary music. They thus took part in a concert series at the Cité de la Musique entitled “Jazz et Musiques nouvelles” with Antoine Hervé in 2002. Les Solistes Français have also recorded numerous albums, nearly 20,000 copies of which have been sold to date. Their five most recent recordings are distributed by harmonia mundi, with which they have entered into a partnership under the Loreley label. Finally, Les Solistes Français were guests of Philippe Lefait on the France 2 program “Des mots de minuit” on 10 June 2009.
