Lilja Haatainen was born in Finland in 2011. At the age of three and a half, she began learning the violin using the famous Suzuki method. At the age of six, she entered the Oulu Conservatory and is currently studying music with Janne Mallivaara and Elina Vähälä. Lilja made her public debut at the age of 8 with the Oulu Symphony Orchestra and has since performed as a soloist with the Finnish Radio Orchestra, the Finnish Chamber Orchestra and many other ensembles. She won the Louis Spohr International Competition for Young Violinists in 2022 and also won first prize in the Jyväskylä Violin Competition in her home country.
