Marius Preda

Born in Romania, at the age of 4 Marius Preda was given an instrument he was passionate about: a cymbalum. He also took an interest in the vibraphone and accordion at an early age, and showed early promise as a multi-instrumentalist. His mastery of these instruments led him to explore a variety of genres. His eclectic repertoire incorporates elements of Romanian folk music, classical jazz and modern fusion. Marius Preda also shares the stage with such musical greats as Arturo Sandoval, Vladimir Cosma and Didier Lockwood. His dedication to his art and his ability to unite musical traditions make him a singular figure in the world of jazz. With several albums to his credit, he is recognized for his creativity as both composer and performer.
