Mischa Maisky




The Latvian cellist Mischa Maisky started out under the guidance of great masters, studying with Mstislav Rostropovitch and Gregor Piatigorsky. He quickly gained international critical acclaim and, as a young man, collaborated with the most distinguished conductors and eminent colleagues. His impressive career has earned him numerous awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 46th Istanbul Music Festival in 2018, and Honorary Membership of the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2019. Mischa Maiksy’s recordings have won numerous awards and in June 2021 a remarkable retrospective of over 40 recordings was published by the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label.
