The Spanish cellist Asier Polo has had a successful career as a multi-talented performer. He is a regular guest with prestigious orchestras on all five continents, and also performs in chamber music with eminent colleagues (Nicolás Chumachenko, Sol Gabetta, Alfredo Kraus, Casals Quartet, etc.). He is a great fan of contemporary music and has recorded most of the major recent concertos for his instrument, several of which are dedicated to him. Asier Polo is a professor at the Lugano Music School and gives frequent masterclasses. He plays a Francesco Ruggeri instrument of 1689, generously made available to him by the Banco Santander Foundation.
