About
Thomas Jung began his musical career by studying the piano at the Basel Academy of Music and then at the Moscow Conservatory. He soon specialised in the organisation of classical concerts, a field in which he has been working for more than twenty years. A long time collaborator of Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra of St. Petersburg, he joined the Concert Society in 2000 and became its director in 2009. On 1 January 2020, he also took over the reins of the Caecilia Concert and Performance Agency, based in Geneva. Together, the Concert Society and Caecilia are responsible for ten series of concerts distributed between Basel, Geneva and Zurich.
