About
A story of friendship is at the origin of the Kyiv Virtuosi Orchestra, founded in 2016; a personal as well as an artistic friendship, uniting the conductor Dmitry Yablonsky with a group of talented Ukrainian musicians, all winners of international competitions. Since its creation, the ensemble has performed in most of the great halls of the international circuit: Carnegie Hall in New York, Scala in Milan, Palais du Louvre in Paris… Signed by the Naxos label, the Kyiv Virtuosi Orchestra has already recorded 7 albums and this fine discographic body of work has been praised many times by the critics. Their opus devoted to the chamber music of Valentin Silvestrov – with pianist Irina Starodoub – was nominated for the Classical Music Award 2018 in the categories of “Best Record of the Year” and “Contemporary Music”.
