After obtaining first prizes in violin and chamber music at the Conservatoire de Lille, Yolande Leroy perfected her skills with Pierre Amoyal before returning to the Detmold Hochschule where she graduated in Tibor Varga’s class.
Member of the Detmold Chamber Orchestra and the Sion Festival Orchestra, she has shared the stage with illustrious artists such as Igor Oistrak, Artois Noras, Michel Corboz and Émile Guilels. For ten years, she was also a solo violinist with Lille Chamber Orchestra where she performed under the direction of Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Augustin Dumay and Jean-Pierre Wallez, among others.
Passionate about teaching, Yolande Leroy obtained a CA and was appointed professor at the Conservatoire de Lille in 1984 and in 1988 at the Haute École de Musique de Sion in 1988. Since she has taught exclusively at the Conservatoire Cantonal de Sion.
Today, Yolande Leroy is still as enthusiastic and happy to share her experience with young musicians as ever.
