About

Norwegian violist Eivind Ringstad made a name for himself in 2012, winning first prize at the Eurovision Young Musicians’ Competition in Vienna. He joined the BBC New Generation Artists Scheme for the period 2016-2018, which secured him numerous engagements in the UK. During the same period he was awarded the prestigious Borletti Buitoni Prize and was selected to participate in the Crescendo programme for young musicians. There he received guidance from Janine Jansen, Noah Bendix-Balgley and Leif Ove Andsnes. Since then, he has performed as a soloist with most of the major Nordic orchestras, recorded three CDs and carried out numerous chamber music projects. Eivind Ringstad plays the Guarneri “Conte Vitale” of 1676, generously provided by Dextra Musica.
