Violinist Kevork Mardirossian gave his first recital at the age of twelve. His career took off when he won the first prize at the Obretenov Violin Competition in Bulgaria (1978) and the gold medal at the Katya Popova International Competition (1979). A former student of the Dobrin Petkov School and the Bulgarian State Conservatory, he went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, from which he graduated with a first prize.

A renowned teacher, Kevork Mardirossian has mentored over a hundred students, most of whom have gone on to win major competitions and launch successful careers in the United States, Europe and Asia. Kevork Mardirossian is a regular guest juror at various international competitions.
