Tuba & Serpent

About

Michel Godard was born on October 3, 1960 in Haute-Saône and quickly began studying music. A tuba player, he is versatile and always curious; he can be heard regularly on the snake – a long forgotten instrument, which he has largely contributed to bring back to the forefront of the scene – and on the bass guitar. A passionate creator in the world of improvisation, he has collaborated with several European jazz ensembles, and has taken a close interest in so-called early music. His projects have led him to work with musicians from all horizons, as well as with the instrument maker Stefan Berger. He now teaches snake at the CNSM and has a rich career as a soloist, chamber musician and improviser.
