Min Kim is one of Korea’s most respected violinists. His undeniable versatility has been repeatedly praised by his peers. Born in Seoul, he studied at the National University of his hometown, before perfecting his art at the Hamburg High School of Music, under the guidance of Wilfried Hanke and Thomas Brandis. Returning to Korea in 1979, he was named concertmaster of the Korean Philharmonic Orchestra and the KBS Symphony Orchestra. Now artistic director of the Korean Chamber Orchestra, he has contributed significantly to advancing the ensemble and giving it international visibility. He has been invited as a juror to the most prestigious violin competitions (Queen Elizabeth, Wieniawski, Tchaikovsky), and is currently professor emeritus at the National University of Seoul.
