Principal trombone of the Orchestre de chambre de Genève from its founding in 1982 until 2017, Pascal Emonet is a trombone professor at the Cantonal Conservatory of Music in Sion. Passionate about conducting, he founded the Quintette du Rhône and led the Fanfare du Losange for more than twenty years.
As a producer and conductor of productions combining music, theatre and dance, he notably created “L’Histoire du Soldat” on Lake Champex (2000), “La Lune, le maître horloger et sa femme” – a klezmer opera performed in Sierre and Geneva (2003) – as well as “Gaillouf” at the Belle Usine in Fully (2005).
With the same enthusiasm, Pascal Emonet founded Fanfaribole in 2010, an ensemble that presents a new creation each year: “FanfarCirkus” (2016, with the Sion circus school), “Et peut-être à demain” (2017, a symphonic poem written by Yves Gaudin for wind band and the bells of the Basilica of Valère), “Éclosion” (2018), and “Voi(x)es du désir” (2019), conceived and performed with Michel Godard.
