Born in Macedonia in 1979, Simon Trpčeski graduated from the University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. Named BBC Young Artist from 2001 to 2003, he was quickly launched onto the international scene, and has already collaborated with over a hundred orchestras and a long list of eminent conductors such as Marin Alsop, Gustavo Dudamel, Vladimir Jurowski, Antonio Pappano… An acclaimed recitalist, Simon Trpčeski has also performed in major venues, including London’s prestigious Wigmore Hall, where he is a regular guest. A born musical explorer, Simon Trpčeski is also committed to strengthening the cultural image of Macedonia. His latest chamber music project, Makedonissimo, aims to bring the richness of his region’s traditional repertoire to a wider audience.
