Pianist Ashot Khachatourian began his musical training at the age of five at the Charles Aznavour Study Centre in his native Armenia. He continued his training in Basel, Fiesole and at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel with the great Maria João Pires. Ashot Khachatourian has won several first prizes in international competitions (Rachmaninoff Piano Competition 2006, Martha Argerich International Competition 2007, …) as well as the Migros Cultural Percentage Study Prize in Switzerland. Today he performs with leading orchestras throughout Europe and with conductors such as Augustin Dumay, Daniele Gatti, Thomas Søndergård and Christopher Warren-Green. He divides his time between concerts and recordings.
