Description

Our co-artistic director, Janine Jansen, surrounds herself with exceptional musicians on this journey to the heart of the most beautiful pages of the chamber music repertoire. Johannes Brahms’s Clarinet Quintet, a profoundly melancholic work, comes to life under the virtuosic fingers of Martin Fröst, offering an atmosphere that is both intimate and lyrical. A great admirer of Brahms and a major figure in Hungarian music, Ernö Dohnányi composed his first Piano Quintet while still a student—a work of remarkable maturity. Finally, in 1938, Béla Bartók wrote Contrasts, a unique and daring trio for piano, clarinet, and violin. Three masterpieces not to be missed!
