10 Concerts in the city of Sion

In collaboration with the Conservatoire cantonal and Schubertiade Sion

“Why poets in a time of distress?” Friedrich Hölderlin’s nagging question is famous. Faced with the violence and brutality of reality, art – in whatever form – often seems very derisory. How not to be discouraged! Yet Pavel Vernikov reminds us: we must hold on, in hope, and in music. This art, so frail in appearance, and which some say is inessential, is often an attempt to elucidate the world, and by the same token an opening to the other. Listening teaches us to let others have their place, with respect and benevolence.

In this year marked by war, the traditional music festival day will therefore take on a special form, “music in peace”. Among the many surprises that will brighten up this festive event, a special place will be given to Russian and Ukrainian musicians and composers, in a spirit of reconciliation, peace and hope.

A day under the sign of shared music, in the warm setting of the old town, from 7am. Concerts for all audiences throughout the day. We look forward to seeing you there.
