It is rare for a performance to live up to its name so perfectly: with Wow, the Fanfaribole and the Fanfare du Losange join forces in a dazzling program. The original compositions of Till Lingenberg engage in dialogue with his arrangements inspired by musical and pop repertoires, enhanced by the expressive voice of Neïma Naouri.
Founded in 2010 by Pascal Emonet within the Conservatoire Cantonal, the Fanfaribole brings together around forty musicians with a rich and unusual instrumentation combining brass, woodwinds, strings, harp, electric guitar, and percussion. For this concert, they are joined by the Fanfare du Losange, conducted by Élise Jacquemettaz, which brings together musicians from the Haute École de Musique in Geneva. Driven by a shared passion for creation and sonic exploration, these two ensembles offer us a vibrant and colorful concert.
Conceived as a true musical journey, the program alternates original works by Till Lingenberg combining electronic and acoustic music with eclectic arrangements drawn from pop and musical theatre. Contrasting worlds intersect: the energy of Kate Bush, the elegance of Liza Minnelli with Mein Herr, the dramatic intensity of I Don’t Care Much by Barbra Streisand, as well as the more contemporary colors of Lady Gaga and Nina Hagen. The concert concludes with two iconic excerpts from Moulin Rouge, El Tango de Roxane and The Show Must Go On, for a spectacular finale!
