An Exceptional Concert!
First notes, first emotions: NODA BCVS and the Sion Festival are joining forces for an extraordinary symphonic concert to inaugurate the new Black and Gold Hall, an acoustic jewel in the very heart of Sion.
The spotlight is on Janine Jansen, world-renowned violinist, and co-artistic director of the Festival. She will perform a classic from the repertoire alongside the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by the flamboyant Lorenzo Viotti. The evening opens with a world premiere by Valaisan composer Andreas Zurbriggen, where tradition and modernity engage in dialogue, before plunging into the youthful audacity of Schubert’s Second Symphony.
A foundational evening, embodying the spirit of both Sion institutions: artistic excellence, local roots, and influence far beyond the Alps.
Janine Jansen, our exceptional soloist, is one of today’s most acclaimed violinists on the classical scene. Her meteoric international career has led her to perform with the world’s most eminent orchestras and conductors. For NODA BCVS, it was only natural that she be the first soloist of the 2025/2026 season.
The OSR brings a symphonic breath born between the Alpine peaks and the shores of Lake Geneva, making both the most classical and the boldest scores dance, with unmistakable Swiss elegance and resolutely contemporary energy.
Lorenzo Viotti, one of the most dynamic conductors of his generation, stands out for his infectious energy and great precision. In perfect harmony with Janine Jansen, he promises us an unforgettable evening, where virtuosity, emotion, and sound magic will blend harmoniously.
